Flow of Information in the Health Discipline

Let us consider the way in which health and scientific information develops. It is important to understand how research findings are published because it affects how, where, and when you search for specific pieces of information. 

The diagram below provides a rough sketch of the path of health information developing from ' an idea' to an 'established part' of the scientific literature. Information is published over time, from 'primary' to 'secondary' to 'tertiary' sources.
