In October 2007, the University Map Library launched an archival air photo scanning project, where approximately 2000 historical air photos for the years 1930, 1945-47,1955,1963 and 1966 of Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas were scanned and saved electronically. These images have been digitized and are available for public viewing and downloading from this website. Image formats include jpg, tiff, pdf, kml and world files for GIS-usage. If you are interested in using your images with GIS-related software, please refer to the Working with Georeferenced Air Photos document for instructions on how to do so or view this short video to learn about adding KMZ files into Google. Take a look at some examples of how georerefenced images can be utilized in air photo analysis.
